Third Graduation Ceremony of BIBM’s Certification Courses held

The Graduation Ceremony (Virtual) of BIBM’s Certification Courses organized by Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM)  held. Mr. Fazle Kabir, Chairman of the BIBM Governing Board and Governor, Bangladesh Bank was present at the event as Chief Guest.

This is the third Graduation Ceremony of BIBM for the Certified Expert Bankers of three programs: This is the third Graduation Ceremony of BIBM for the Certified Expert Bankers of six programs: Certified Expert in Risk Management (CERM); Certified Expert in Credit Management (CECM);  Certified Expert in Trade Services (CETS); ‘Certified Expert in Anti Money Laundering and Financial Crime (CEAF); ‘Certified Expert in E-Banking (CEEB)’ and Moody's BIBM Joint Certificate in Commercial Credit (CICC). A total number of two hundred sixty graduates will be awarded certificates in the program. 
Md. Ataur Rahman Prodhan, CEO & Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited delivered the Ceremonial Lecture. The program chaired by Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Director General of BIBM. Mohammad Sohail Mostafa, Director (Training and Certification Program) delivered inaugural speech. Dr.Barkat-e-Khuda, Dr.  Muzzafer Ahmed Chair Professor of BIBM & Former  Professor of Dhaka University spoke at the event.

Governor of the Bangladesh Bank Mr. Fazle Kabir said, “Certified Expert Bankers” will play a pivotal role in managing, adjusting, and overcoming successfully any new type of challenge like Covid-19 so that we can ensure our bright future through accomplishing a smooth and well-functioning financial system. 

Md. Ataur Rahman Prodhan, CEO & Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited said, acquiring specialized knowledge and unique skills, the graduates can be able to play an important role in the banking sector. I strongly believe that to enhance the professionalism of bankers working in banking sector in Bangladesh such program will be more effective, fruitful as well as acquaint them with the contemporary banking system and global.

Dr.Barkat-e-Khuda, Dr.  Muzzafer Ahmed Chair Professor of BIBM said, certification programs will accelerate the capacity development process banking industry further.   Over the years, BIBM has helped hundreds of thousands of practitioners, as well as graduates eager to join the industry, to acquire essential banking skills and to stay tuned with the latest knowledge of the industry.
BIBM Director General Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said that the certification courses are helping to reduce various types of risks in the banking sector. Skilled manpower reduces the risks in the banking sector. Bankers who have completed the certification course will play a significant role in the development of the banking sector in the upcoming days. This will help Bangladesh achieving higher growth and strengthening its position in the global financial arena.

Mohammad Sohail Mostafa, Director (Training and Certification Program) of BIBM said, the main objective of launching the certification courses at BIBM is to enhance the professional expertise of bankers working in the banking sector in Bangladesh as well as acquaint them with contemporary banking system and global thinking. Since the inception of certification programs at 2015, so far 606 banking professionals had already completed these programs.
